The layered lamp has been created for the Swedish brand Örsjö Belysning. The lamp features a three-layered shade made of fabric, drawn together by means of a string. The triple layered shades are meant to reflective of the thin pastry layers in the Turkish delicacy of Baklava, from which the lamp derives its name.
Just below the light source is a coloured acrylic disk that produces a red glow, falling upon the lower half of the lamp. By this construction of the lamp, the bottom half glows in a colour different from that of its upper half.
The Baklava had initially been designed to be part of the new Nobis Hotel in Stockholm, Baklava and is available for home and other locations in the form of both table and floor lights.
