Saving approximately $360,000 a year, these two lighting schemes will consume about 3.5 million fewer kilowatt hours (kWhs) of electricity.
Replacing the existing high-pressure sodium and metal halide parking lot lights, the new Evolve LED Area Lights have been installed at eight administrative facilities and two data centres in several states, including New Jersey, Ohio and Rhode Island.
Combined, more than 1,000 Evolve LED Area Lights will reduce MetLife’s electricity use by approximately 1.1 million kWhs a year, totaling $164,000 in savings.
Replacing more than 7,000 old T12 fixtures consuming nearly 5.1 million kWhs a year, nearly 13,000 GE F28 T8 linear fluorescent lamps have been installed at MetLife’s 650,000-square-foot administrative facility in St. Louis.
The new indoor and outdoor lighting scheme will save about 2.4 million kWhs of electricity a year, a $196,000 reduction in utility cost.
