The famous shop 399 Strand has recently undergone a massive refurbishment led by London-based design firm XDP, giving it a completely new look. The retail area has been expanded to allow more space, better displays and interactive information creating a better shopping experience for all collectors.
As part of this renovation project, which aimed to create a ‘high quality gallery feel’ to the retail space, Stanley Gibbons has opted Junckers’ solid hardwood flooring to distinguish the front end of the store. Distinct for its sophistication and rich patina, Junckers Black Oak has offered a sense of luxury to the space. Junckers Ultra Matt lacquer has been used to create a modern and matt finish.
XDP has created new gallery displays of high value stamps, which line the walls at the heart of the store. Concealed LED lighting integrated with the shelves illuminate the stamps, giving it a jewel-like quality to the products.
