Work will be carried out in three phases. The $503,176 phase one of the upgrade work will involve construction of the engineered steel building which includes foundation, seating as well as installation works. Ferranti Construction has secured the contract for this phase.
Use of wooden bleachers will reap savings of $70,833 with the firm expected to use stadium plank wood for the bleachers. The second phase will include upgrades to the parking and entryways with phase three involving interior finishing of the multi-purpose room, bathroom walls, electrical, windows, fire sprinklers as well as fixtures. The project will include adding handicapped parking, walkways, ramps, steps, and signs in addition to a chain-link fence and slide gate.
The city has provided $500,000 in funding for the project for California’s Department of Parks and Recreation with various contributions from the community.
