The modular residence hall houses a total of 234 units encompassing four floors. It is the campus’ second residence hall to bag the certification. The building accommodates 459 undergraduate students in hotel-style rooms. The room modules were constructed by Clayton Homes while John S. Clark Construction Company executed the on-site installation and construction of the building.
The facility imbibes several green features such as motion sensor-controlled lighting fixtures which reap energy cost cuts. Energy usage is further reduced with installation of solar panels which meet its water heating needs. The building has also been equipped with low-flow shower heads and toilets to conserve water.
Use of eco-friendly flooring and reclaimed gypsum board add to the building’s sustainability. Among other green features include erosion control measures during construction, as well as incorporation of landscaping and storm water controls.
