The 620-metre tall Landmark Tower has been designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, in close collaboration with Seoul-based design practice Samoo Architects and Engineers. The tower will be built at the new Yongsan International Business District in Seoul.

The tower at its base will have a diameter of 76m, which will reduce to 22m wide splinter at the top. It will consist of a twin pair of entwined tubes in a running lattice-strengthened through the form in a double helix pattern.

The tower will be among the 20 iconic buildings to be built in the new business district, which sprawls over 340 acres. Arup anticipates completing the designing by the end of 2012 and completing the project in 2016.
