The $100 million gate replacement project is part of Broward County Aviation Department’s $1 billion expansion program to provide a user-friendly, state-of-the-art facility for the passengers.
The gate replacement project is aimed to make room for the extension of the south runway. The first phase of the project represents replacement of the existing concourse and alteration of its orientation from north-south to east-west. The project also encompasses creation of expansive, diverse interior spaces to support the airport’s growing international market.
Pre-construction of the gate replacement project at Terminal 4 will commence by late 2010, and phased construction will begin by mid-2011.
