Under the terms of the contract, BAM will develop a new block for the Chesham academy and will redevelop the existing structures of the academy. The new building will feature a spacious well-lit atrium. It will consist of a learning resource centre donning an open-plan concept, as well as new kitchen and dining facilities.
The new wing will offer advanced facilities for technology, art and digital design students. The project also involves creation of a fully-equipped sports hall which will substitute the current gym. The company has selected materials for the project in consultation with the local conservation board.
The project is scheduled to begin in August 2012 and is slated for completion by the 2013 end. The construction of the facility will be undertaken by BAM Construction South East Limited.
