The new emergency hospital will be a two-storey building, which will be located at Interstate 35 North and Schertz Parkway. The new facility will encompass an area of 40,000 square feet. Work on the hospital is expected to commence soon with completion penciled in for early 2013. The estimated capital outflow of the project is $10 million.

The emergency hospital will be a 24/7 facility, where services will be provided by board-certified emergency medicine physician specialists. The facilities at the hospital will include large hospital-based emergency department, which will offer on-site imaging services such as X-ray, CT scan and ultrasound, as well as in-house laboratories.
