The project involved upgrades to 82 units of the apartment along with community space. The facility has been equipped with rooftop solar panels following the makeover which have the capacity to generate 25% of its electrical needs.

The revamped property incorporates new insulation, new windows and doors, as well as Formica counter tops featuring reclaimed content. The development now also comprises tankless water heaters, along with low-flow faucets and toilets to reap water savings.

Housing and Urban Development has provided a $300 million grant to 36 public housing authorities across the country. YMCA secured funds for this renovation project from this grant through a competitive process.
