Reflecting the commitment to deliver compassionate care and providing the best patient experience possible, the Leonard Family Comprehensive Breast Center will provide an enhanced collaborative care model. It will also provide patients quick and easy access to members of the hospital’s multidisciplinary team.

The centre will house services such as digital mammography, ultrasound, biopsy and bone density screening on the first floor between the main entrance and west entrance of Bristol Regional. The onclology department has been moved to the centre of the facility to offer seamless transition to Bristol Regional’s breast care navigator, genetic testing and counseling, lymphedema therapy and clinical research trials.

With the new format, surgeons are closer to the patients being located on the second floor directly above the breast centre. Other facilities include registered mammography technicians, extended evening and weekend hours, and assigned parking spaces in front of the hospital.

The center will begin seeing patients from 17 June 2013.
