The seven year project will be implemented by Caticlan International Airport Development Corporation (CIADC) through a contract-add-operate-and-transfer scheme. It will be done in phases.
The estimated cost is $54.5 million and the project aims to upgrade various facilities at the airport. It includes development and expansion of the existing airport, enhancement of the safety of aircraft operation, and making it compliant with international civil aviation standards and recommended practices.
The project also includes improvement of existing terminal building; construction of runway extension and the widening; development of new landslide facilities including the construction of new passenger terminal building; vehicular parking area and other ancillary facilities.
