The Nicholas and Athena Karabots Pediatric & Adolescent Care Center spanning 50,000 square feet will be situated on a four-acre site in West Philadelphia with convenient access to public transportation. Ample parking facilities for patient families and employees will be featured on site.
The new centre is designed to feature child-friendly exam rooms, radiology, X-ray, hearing and vision testing, and will be able to handle more than 45,000 patient visits per year. The centre will also provide families access to Children’s Hospital’s community programs including Early Head Start, Reach Out and Read, domestic violence education, medical home and care coordination and asthma education.
The new paediatric and adolescent care centre will be named after the Athena and Nicholas Karabots and the Karabots Foundation, who contributed the gift. The new primary healthcare facility will be a part of the CHOP Care Network.
