The theatres to be refurbished include the Cinema City McGillivray, SilverCity St. Vital Cinemas and SilverCity Polo Park Cinemas.

Creation of VIP cinemas will serve as a key element in the $4.5 million makeover of the Cinema City McGillivray. The VIP Cinemas sport stadium seating style comprising expanded leg room, high back seats made of leather and reserved seating. The building will transform its present 12 auditoriums into eight conventional and three VIP auditoriums, all fitted with advanced Christie DLP Cinema projectors as part of the project.

The remodelled Cinema City McGillivray will further incorporate a new concession stand and new retail units. Its box office and lobby area will be overhauled following the facelift. The improved building will also install larger screens, Dolby digital surround sound systems, and RealD 3D technology as well as will be reprogrammed to showcase first run films.

Work on the facility is expected to commence by early 2012 and be completed by mid-2012. The facility will be re-branded as the Cineplex Odeon McGillivray and VIP Cinemas after completing the facelift.

The SilverCity St Vital Cinemas will upgrade its lobby space as part of the project. The redesigned facility will also feature a new XSCAPE Entertainment Centre as well as will shift its box office and concession stands. In addition, the facade in its exterior portion will be repainted post overhaul.

The SilverCity Polo Park Cinemas will substitute all of its theatre seats after the renovation and will repaint its exterior facade.
