Mapei sets the scene at Gatwick Airport Station

Mapei renovation and tiling systems have been used as part of an extensive redevelopment at Gatwick Airport Station. The project, which was carried out by DMC Contracts for Costain, included construction of a new second concourse and airport entrance, doubling available space for passengers accessing the airport terminal.

Mapei extends coatings range with Dursilite & Mapecoat Act paint series

Mapei has introduced a series of new professional paint finishes to its Wall Protection & Decorative Coatings range. They include Dursilite - a new range of water-based paints offered in five finishes – and new Mapecoat Act – a new paint that is resistant to mould, viruses and bacteria and developed for areas where hygiene and prolonged resistance to cleaning are key considerations. Both ranges are offered in 1 litre, 4 litre and 14 litre units, in recycled plastic.

A Mapei system has been used by Titan Flooring to promote a fast and safe floor installation at Sunningdale SEN School in Sunderland. The project, which included installation of vinyl and carpet tiles throughout the £12.5 million new-build school, was completed for Kier, a leading UK infrastructure services, construction and property group.

Mapei connects surfaces at BT’s global headquarters

An extensive porcelain installation, at BT’s new global headquarters, has recently been completed by Stone & Ceramic using a Mapei system. The project - at One Braham in Aldgate, East London - featured Solus terrazzo, terrazzo-effect flooring and porcelain tiles throughout the reception area, stairs, landings and lift lobbies. It was completed for main contractor, ISG.

Totalling over 2,000 square metres, the installation spans the main reception area and rest rooms at the iconic hotel and includes a range of porcelain tile designs.

Mapei joins surface specification at Health & Allied Professions Centre

Mapei preparation and fixing products have been used to complete a surface installation at Nottingham Trent University’s Health & Allied Professions Centre. The project, which was completed by Sheffield-based tiling contractor, W F Fearn Ltd, for Henry Brothers Midlands, included installation of porcelain wall and floor tiles throughout the centre’s atrium and wash rooms.

Mapei creates industrial-style at Everlast Gyms – with more to follow

Mapei’s Ultratop Loft floor finish has been installed at Everlast Gyms - Shirebrook in Mansfield. The installation, by Rossington Contracts, is part of an extensive refurbishment and ‘elevation’ programme which will include installations at up to 60 sites throughout the UK. Mapei’s industrial-style floor finish was chosen to complement the gym’s urban design, whilst providing high performance and abrasion resistance.

Mapei floor preparation and fixing products were recently specified for an extensive floor installation at Teesside International Airport’s first duty free store, ‘World Duty Free’. The project was completed by Ian Costello Tiling for main contractor, Wharton Construction. It forms part of an extensive refit at the Darlington airport, designed by architects, Corstorphine & Wright.
