The 235,700 square feet building will be demolished and a new three story, 125,700 square feet structure will be created. The entire academic space will be inside the newly created facility, which will also house a cafeteria.
The wing of the building housing auditorium, fieldhouse, auxiliary gymnasium and natatorium will also undergo massive renovation and will be made compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Under the current law, 33.57% of construction costs for the new Waterford High School would be reimbursable. The project is undertaken as a part of the town’s 10 year plan to overhaul all of its school buildings.
