Estimated to cost $33.8 million, the project is located in the immediate vicinity of the Mill Woods Town Centre and Mill Woods Transit Centre.

Providing the community an additional space to learn and connect, the new library will feature approximately 25,000 square feet of space. Upon completion, it will feature free public computer stations, free Wi-Fi access, a community program room, and quiet study rooms.

Apart from that it will also feature reading areas for children, teens and adults, a freshwater aquarium and fireplace, express checkout stations, and a 24-hour item return on the exterior.

Creating a dedicated space for seniors and multicultural groups, the 17,000 square feet Seniors and Multicultural Centre will located on the second floor. It will include a programming area, meeting rooms, a commercial kitchen, administrative officers and storage.

The Mill Woods Library, Seniors and Multicultural Centre will open to the public in 2014.
