The restaurant has been designed by architect Jon Sandeman. The restaurant incorporates several innovative green features. The shades that cover the dining hall and patio are lined with solar panels. This ensures that the shades not only protect the guests from direct sun, but also generate electricity to meet part of the energy requirement of the restaurant.

The restaurant receives abundant natural light from skylights and glazing. The kitchen recycles the fryer oil and uses it to fuel a hot water heater. The mechanical systems installed in the building are also energy efficient.

The kitchen and restrooms of the restaurant feature low-flow fixtures that assist in conserving water. The roof of the building is done in woods, which are procured from sustainable sources. There is also a provision for harvesting rainwater from the roof. The design of the roof prevents the heat island phenomenon.

Sandeman has re-used materials and procured materials locally, further reducing the footprint on the environment. The prairie planted detention areas regulate storm water and minimize and filter off-site flow.
