The Willows courthouse is a two-story, 16,100 square feet building. The renovation project will bring seismic strengthening to the building and update the electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems of the building.
The project will remove the older additions to the building. There will be one courtroom, a main entrance, and lobby in the historic courthouse. It will also feature security screening. The older additions will be replaced with the addition of a 26,900 square feet, two-story building having two court rooms, the sheriff’s office, and an area for the in-custody defendants. It is also planned to construct a parking lot with a capacity of 50 cars.
Funded through legislation, the new building will house the operations of the Orland branch court.
