Spread over an area of 3,196 square feet, the new community event centre will have a capacity to accommodate 200 people. The facility will be equipped with advanced sound system and multimedia screens, which will enable it to host several kinds of events.
The new Community Event Centre will feature a catering kitchen, meeting space and other buffer spaces, including restrooms. The centre will have a separate entrance and a circle drive and visitor drop-off area. The new event centre will also have an outdoor courtyard.
The community centre will be located at 608 N. 18th, Kansas City, on the footings of 1919-built laundry facility for Providence Hospital, which until recently was used as El Centro’s Academy for Children. Construction of the facility is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2013.
