Built by the Bahrain-based real estate investment company Tameer, the DHS1.5 billion ($2.41 billion), 107-storied building spans 37,410 square feet. The building features 763 luxury apartments; six basement floors; one ground floor; 100 above ground levels and eight retail stores; 957 parking bays, including one, two, three and four bedroom apartments; and penthouse apartments overlooking Palm Jumeirah.

The balustrades leading to the balconies in the tower have been designed to a height to bar people from standing on the ledge. Higher floors of the tower feature larger balconies, and incorporates a wind detection system. The system detects the wind speed, and if found beyond a certain limit, the sliding doors of that floor’s units will remain closed.

The 97th floor of the building features a recreational area, which provides enjoyment and 360 degree panoramic views of the Marina, the Palm Jumeira, Sheikh Zayed Road and all nearby landmarks. Including various amenities, the 5th and 6th levels of the building will feature fully equipped gymnasiums, swimming pools, billiard and table tennis rooms to provide relaxing atmosphere to the residents.

Recognised by Guinness World Records as the tallest residential tower in the world, Princess Tower has broken the record of 23 Marina, its predecessor also located in Dubai. The idea was conceived in 2004, with construction work commencing in 2006. It took almost six years to complete.
