With this building, UTS aims to create a world-class teaching and research environment that inspires creative thinking and encourages collaborative learning and discovery. Ross Milbourne, vice-chancellor and president of UTS, said that this project reflects the nexus between creativity and technology that embodies the innovative thinking so characteristic of UTS.

Gehry’s works include the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao (Spain) and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles (USA) is in Sydney to continue discussions initiated by the University in October.

Frank Gehry is one of the world’s most widely recognized and critically celebrated architects. Gehry was elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 1974. He is also a recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1989.
