The expansion project includes construction of a new stand with 1500 seats, a club shop, a corporate box and a restaurant and bar. Perpignan City Council has rubber stamped the plans and the work is expected to be done in time for the 2011 season.
The Catalans Dragons will continue to play their games at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium, but with a reduced capacity. The four games of the season have been rescheduled. Their games with Leeds, Bradford, Wigan, and Warrington will be played at Stade Aime Giral.
The club, founded in 2001 in Perpignan, also plays in the European Super League.
