The stadium measures 245.8m in length, 245.8m in width and 39.65m in height. It has a seat capacity of 40,050. The facility draws inspiration from the bamboo forests in southern China featuring double row of green-coloured steel supports which provides the illusion of bamboo. The steel structures support the facility’s circular roof and the stands.
The supports in the inner row are linked with the concrete structure of the upper tier which helps in carrying the vertical seat loads. The steel tubes have dimensions of 32m length and come between 55cm to 80cm as per the amount of their static loads. A membrane roof having a diameter of 230m and cantilevering of 54m hangs from an outer frame to cover the seating zones.
The stadium will be used for soccer matches during the Universiade games and will host athletics after the completion of the games.
