The Golden Bear bar was opened by Kimio Bazett and Jon Modrow five years ago on the first floor of a converted house. The renovated bar is likely to be unveiled on March 17, 2010.

The bar’s kitchen, bathrooms and enclosed back patio have received makeovers. The back room of Golden Bear now features aqua couches, white tables and modern light fixtures with dimmers. These improvements have helped in offering a clean and light ambiance to the space, free of artwork. The room is designed to serve also as the smoking area with vents in the back wall, and two powered exhaust fans to recirculate air every four minutes.

The kitchen and bathrooms have been expanded. The kitchen features a range stove. The renovated bathrooms now sport glass sinks, ceramic tile floors and waterfall faucets.

Originally slated for completion in January 2010, the renovation project was delayed due to incorporation of some necessary changes suggested by the county health department.
