Goodwill is seeking city approval for the new retail center on Theater Road just west of the Franciscan Skemp clinic. The company is planning to open the outlet by mid-August 2010, expecting the scheme to be approved by the council in February 2010.
Goodwill’s new retail center will integrate green-friendly techniques, as stated by George Burns, director of environmental services for Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin. The new facility will be Goodwill North Central’s second-largest retail facility in Wisconsin, he added.
The estimated cost of the new unit is $3 million to $5 million, and it will employ 50 to 60 employees. The company will purchase 3.12 acres on the northern end of the Elmwood Partners property, if the plan is approved.
