The hotel features contemporary environmental design from top to bottom: its roof tops are fitted with solar panels; while its flooring is made from salvaged locally-grown walnuts.

As well as solar panels and recycled construction materials, the hotel’s environmentally friendly features include water conservation, organic linens and cleaning products, onsite composting, and minimal solid waste generation. Locally quarried Tuffa stone is used in the interiors of the hotel’s entryway, reception and dining areas.

Waterways with wooden bridges are placed between each set of rooms, and the connecting points feature stone towers with water pouring from them. The property also features an organic garden. Not surprisingly, Bardessono is seeking to get Platinum LEED certification – the highest award for green building.

But guests are not forced to skimp on luxury: each room of the hotel resembles a spa suite, with treatment bed and indoor and outdoor shower with a steam function. The 62-room hotel also includes a 92-seat restaurant and bar, meeting rooms and a main spa.
