The pipeline scheme is being developed over a 24-acres site at Ga. 44 at Carey Station Road in Greensboro. The facility will span 75,000 square feet and is poised to be amongst the best critical access hospitals in the South.
The new 25-bed replacement facility will accommodate an expanded emergency department, multiple surgical suites, all-private patient rooms, a larger chapel, and a full-service cafeteria. The emergency department will be a state-of-the-art facility which will offer digital imaging services and will be the only centre in the region to posses a 64-slice CT scanner. All private rooms will feature telemetric patient monitoring.
The new replacement facility will also offer comprehensive rehabilitation services. Construction work is expected to begin in November 2012 with completion scheduled for a wrap-up by early 2014. The project is being funded by St. Mary’s, Catholic Health East as well as through philanthropic grants, and is being constructed by the American construction company Brasfield & Gorrie Llc.
