The renovation scheme will improve the public spaces such as the main staircase in the Flathead County Courthouse, in order to integrate elements that will help in emphasizing the structure’s historic attributes.
The county aims to preserve the remarkable nature of the building, which is registered on the National Register of Historical Places. The exterior façade will receive enhancements by filling cracks and imperfections. An elevator will be installed to meet the Americans with Disability Act standards. The building will be modified to meet fire safety standards along with installing energy-efficient windows.
The county has appointed CTA Architects and Engineers to design and manage the project.
