The improved William P. Hobby Airport was unveiled on July 16, 2010, after completing the renovation program that added many new features to enhance airport’s efficiency and customer experience.

Post renovation, the facility features four sets of doors leading from the kerbside drop-off area, enabling the customers to have greater access to the ticket counters and the security checkpoint. With the new arrangement, passengers can see everything directly in front of them. The existing baggage claim area has also undergone a complete renovation. The baggage carousels are shifted to a new space along the southeast corner of the terminal building.

Hobby Airport is Houston’s oldest commercial airport and was the city’s primary air terminal until the opening of Houston Intercontinental Airport, which is the present George Bush Intercontinental Airport in 1969.
