This project has doubled the existing building from 22,500 feet to 45,000 feet, and upgraded the existing library to house a collection of 186,000 items.

The sustainable features of the building including an underground closed loop geothermal system which lowers day to day heating and cooling costs, automatic lighting system that dims the lights in the main reading room during the day time and save electricity, and a lobby floor made from recycled rubber tires. The local materials used in the project helped reduce trucking costs.

Beatty, Harvey & Associates designed the project. The designer part of the library include  28ft. glass walls, a curving roofline on its new eastern wing, a 140ft. long reading room, and a cantilevered canopied roof over the main entrance. The duration of the renovation was 22 month.
