Located in one of the two newly built 19-storey towers at Media Harbour’s peninsula in Dusseldorf, the 303-rom hotel has been designed by Dutch interior design firm FG stijl. It features a pedestrian bridge connecting it with the opposite side of the harbour offering DOX Restaurant with a bar and sushi bar, a fitness centre, and more than 850 square metres of event space including a 445 square metre ballroom. Additional hotel services and amenities such as the Regency Club, Rive Spa, the hotel’s premier suites, and Pebble’s restaurant are expected to be complete by mid-February 2011.
FG stijl used warm colours, glass and abundant amount of daylight to create Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf’s distinctive look. Ceiling-high windows in the public areas offers expansive views of Media Harbour and Old Town.
The hotel’s 290 guestrooms and 13 suites will feature modern technology, including flat-screen televisions, high-speed Internet access, MP3 docking stations, tea- and coffee-making facilities, as well as separate work areas. Large bathrooms, including rain showers and bath tubs, will complete the in-room wellness experience for travellers. The hotel will also offer Regency Club accommodation, which includes the services of a dedicated concierge and access to a private lounge.
Offering more than 9,000 square feet of event space, Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf offers various venues. The 4,700 square feet multifunctional ballroom can be converted into two separate rooms and is suitable for large-scale gatherings and product presentations, offering panoramic views of both buildings through a water-flooded glass ceiling.
The hotel houses four restaurants and bars, offering a host of culinary delicacies. Classic European dishes made with fresh regional produce are served at DOX restaurant, which features an open kitchen and a view of the Rhine River. The restaurant also features a sushi bar offering Japanese flavours. DOX Bar is situated along the Catwalk, which connects the hotel lobby with the restaurants.
The Lounge, which adjoins the bar, carries a wide selection of international magazines. With access from the river bank, Café D caters to hotel guests, hotel associates, and employees of nearby offices. Pebble, which will be unveiled in mid-February 2011, will offer 360-degree panoramic view of Media Harbour, along with delicacies and a wide selection of champagnes.
Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf will also feature 5,200 square feet Rive Spa which will open in February 2011. It will house five treatment rooms featuring a Vichy shower room, whirlpool, sauna and steam bath, as well as an inviting open-air terrace.
