The 415,000-square-foot store, located on 13.5 acres along the western side of Interstate 25 in the northern part of Park Meadows, will be the company’s first venture in Colorado. It will offer 10,000 exclusively designed items. The store will comprise about 50 different room settings, three complete model home interiors, a supervised children’s play section along with a 500-seat restaurant serving Swedish cuisines.
The building will incorporate about 1,500 parking spaces and is considered as the first IKEA store in the US to install a geothermal element in its heating/cooling system. Other features of the store include a Children’s IKEA section in the showroom, baby care rooms, and preferred parking in addition to play areas across the entire store.
The store is currently undergoing outfitting phases with the interior build-up procedure expected to be ready by July 2011.
