The Haiku Restaurant Group’s new Haiku Sushi is located at the open courtyard of the Shanghai International Finance Center. Imagine Native Ltd has incorporated the concept of origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding, as the key driving force throughout the project. The interior design of the restaurant showcases art minimalism.
Each zone, namely bar, sushi bar, Tatami rooms and booth area, is swathed in unique origami features. The whole restaurant space is united by an origami suspended ceiling. Each space has been created distinctively with its own spatial character, fashioned by origami features and its materials.
Each space displays integrated colours and diverse materials, for instance, punctured aluminum panels, translucent panels made from stone and linen as well as different lighting effects.
