CIGNA Pointe will be a four story office building, divided into two wings on each floor. Each floor will cover an area of about 50,000 square feet. The exterior frontage of the building will be enhanced with brick, aluminum and painted surface as well as a glass curtain wall.
The firm is also planning the interior designing aspects of the building. The top floor of the building will be enriched with the glass and aluminum facade and a taller floor height. Future additions to the site include possible retail areas, additional office buildings, hotel and residential units.
The building will also be constructed with recycled materials, allowing it to be considered a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified green building.
The new facility will also include a rain capture roof system, an east west orientation to minimize direct sun exposure. The rain capture roof system will be created using the unique bird wing design with the wings sloped into the center. Rain water will be collected in a large decorative cisterns located at the bottom of the building.
CIGNA plans to combine employees and operations in the new building. The new facility will include a gym and extensive healthy offerings in the company cafeteria. The property is currently surrounded by large trees and a wooded creek, and will be improved with abundant landscaping, jogging and walking paths as well as picnic areas.
