The mall spanning over an area of one million square feet is the first in Corpus Christi to win the certification. The complex has undergone a $50 million facelift and now incorporates new outdoor main entrance with new stores and restaurants, a food court with a capacity of 600, a 4,500-gallon feature aquarium as well as an ocean-themed playing section for children. Other features of the refurbished facility include a palm court dining patio, an upgraded Center Court featuring a coffee bar and a diameter fountain measuring 20 feet, interactive pop jet fountains, valet service along with a new community room.
The renovated mall also features new tiles and carpet and overhauled furniture in public seating spaces across the entire building. The facility also incorporated various green features such as use of natural lighting to reduce energy consumption, installation of efficient systems to improve air quality in the building’s interior portion as well as use of energy-efficient water fixtures.
