The contemporary design exhibition was held from September 23-26, 2010 at Earls Court, London. From architectural and interior design practices to professional specifiers and retailers, 100% Design witnessed record business in 2010. Part of this commercial acclaim was the 100% Select retail programme, devised to connect exhibitors with retailers.

There were over 100 new designers launching products at 100% Design in 2010. The distinct style and choice of exhibitors proved to be a winning formula for visitors – from architectural materials to cardboard houses; textiles and glass to furniture and lighting – the original one-stop shop.

Original design came in the shape of many British design companies and manufacturers throughout the show including Decode; Dare Studio; &Then Design, and Mark furniture, to Russell Pinch, Michelle Mason, David Mellor, Race Furniture, Allermuir, Scabetti, and Thelermont Hupton.

There were 14 international country pavilions demonstrating the diversity and universality of design throughout the world. Many of the international designers were shortlisted for Blueprint awards.

Blueprint and 100% Design awarded their top four awards to Nathalie Dewez for ‘Best New Product Design’ for her self-weighting ‘Linea’ table light; Creative Trust for ‘Best Stand Design’ using a cardboard house filled with cardboard products; ‘Best Use of Materials’ went to Kristine Bjaadal for her Underfull tablecloth and Aussie duo Daniel Emma for ‘Most Promising Newcomers’ at 100% Futures.

Idfx announced the winners of their new interior design awards at 100%Design; winners Nuns with Guns and Nina Campbell to name but a few. The 100% Design/Hidden Art prize went to Tom Cecil for his interactive ‘Field of Lights’ and The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers awarded its annual Design Guild Mark for outstanding contribution to British furniture design to Matthew Hilton; Simon Pengelly; and Samuel Chan amongst others.

James Michael Shaw, winner of the 100% Design ‘New Designers Award’ won a stand at 100% Futures. Julieann Humphryes, newly installed as Non-Executive Chair of 100% Design, now sits at the helm of the show taking it into a new era.

The next 100% Design will take place at Earls Court from 22 – 25 September 2011.
