Loom references traditional Chinese lanterns. It is a collection of organic textile pendant lamps whose shades are made from a new 3D woven polyester material.
Loom is said to be the first lamp to utilize textile as a source material in the lighting industry. The 3D textile technology has been used in the bedding industry only.
The textile can be stretched around complex forms with the lamp shade diffusing the light through dense network of warp woven polyester fibers. The textile is also offset and contrasted with a brightly illuminated polymer lens in each Loom pendant.
Stockholm Furniture Fair took place from 8-12 February 2011.
