The objective of the renovation project is to re-organize the various hospitals under MUHC’s care into three campuses called Glen, Mountain and Lachine.

The Montreal General Hospital would be the basis of the Mountain campus, says MUHC marketing director Julie Quenneville. Lachine Hospital will merge with Camille-Lefebvre long-term care center to form the Lachine campus. The Glen campus will comprise the Royal Victoria Hospital, the Montreal Chest Institute and Montreal Childrens’ Hospital.

The hospital has put on display a model room at Rockland Shopping Centre in Montreal, Canada, which depicts what is planned for all three campuses.

In the newly designed rooms, remote controls will regulate natural light penetration, lighting, television, heating, and so on. The new rooms will feature a wider area for visiting family members and a washing station for nurses and hospital staff.

Currently the MUHC represents teaching hospitals affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine of McGill University, they are: The Montreal Children’s, Montreal General, Royal Victoria, and Montreal Neurological hospitals, the Montreal Chest Institute, Camille-Lefebvre Pavillion and the Lachine Hospital.
