Murase Associates will renovate Meinders Garden within the Myriad Botanical Gardens, besides creating a new entry into the park. A major waterfall will be created as a gateway element. The waterfall will be made of native stones, with water to stroll through the garden down a 20 feet grade to an existing lake.

The outdoor grounds of the Myriad Gardens will be transformed into a new multi-use outdoor recreation space. This space will feature a restaurant, café, children’s garden, grand event lawn and multiple water features. The gardens’ water stage will also receive improvements. The new design is expected to enhance the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the outdoor space.

Meinders Garden renovation forms a small part of the major renovation of the historic The Myriad Botanical Gardens, a 17-acre botanical garden designed by architect I. M. Pei in 1964. The project will be completed by early 2011.

The Myriad Botanical Gardens is home to multiple tiers of densely landscaped areas that surround a sunken lake. Its primary feature is the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory – a 224-feet living plant museum.
