The project has been designed by Grand Rapids-based Progressive AE and will be developed by Christman Construction. Work involves makeover and expansion of the facility’s emergency and surgery units. The project will also improve the outpatient services provided by the hospital with better medical imaging, laboratory and cardiopulmonary facilities.
The facility will further feature a new main entryway on its southern side dedicated to patients while its eastern segment will sport a new covered ambulance and emergency centre following the facelift. In addition, some of the outpatient amenities will now be positioned in close proximity to the new entrance which will facilitate the patients by reducing the distance between medical services and check-in.
The project is slated to commence in early 2012 with most of the work expected to be completed by the end of 2013.
