Designed mainly for women, the store has soft music and subdued lighting for a comfortable shopping experience. The new store is a combination of America’s Mattress Store and Powell Kids.
The store, emphasizing on relaxation and sleep, has dark carpet and a black ceiling, along with decor such as a faux fireplace near the entrance. Featuring exclusive Serta mattress from America’s Mattress Store, the store offers 31 choices from the company’s Perfect Sleeper, Perfect Day and Vera Wang series along with various bed frames, headboard/footboard sets and some fold-up Murphy bed options. The products are priced between $199 to $2,099 for twin size, and from $399 to $3,499 for king size.
The store will also showcase dog beds and a section for Powell Kids, a children’s furniture line built by the Powell Co., featuring children’s bunk beds, trundle beds and day beds, along with some dressers and related items. The section will also feature a ‘princess’ set, a bed and dresser set built from dry-erase material that children can draw on, and an industrial-looking set that includes a dresser designed to resemble a mechanic’s tool chest. The prices of beds in the Powell Kids section range from $399 to $1,499.
The door is slated for a July 18 opening.
