The awards are separated into five categories: business centers, refurbished office buildings, residential developments, hotels and tourism resorts and green buildings.
The awards jury, chaired by Peter Goodacre, president of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, met in Paris on January 23 to select the 15 projects that would enter the competition as finalists.
Green buildings were shown preference, as the jury noted buildings which successfully incorporated energy efficiency and efforts to reduce waste creation and water consumption.
In the business center category, finalists are the Shanghai World Financial Center, Der Angerhof in München and the Kranhaus 1 in Cologne, Germany.
For the refurbished office buildings category, the finalists are Les Ecuries de la Chasse Royale Brussels, 103 rue de Grenelle, Paris and Las Palmas, Rotterdam.
In the residential developments category, the finalists are Quartis Les Halles, Düsseldorf, Highbury Square, London and Mountain Dwellings, Copenhagen.
The winners of the MIPIM Awards will be chosen by the real estate professionals attending MIPIM in Cannes from March 10 to 13.
The winners will be disclosed during the awards ceremony to be held in the grand auditorium of the Palais des Festivals de Cannes at 7 pm on Thursday, March 12.
