Verner Panton’s simple, iconic chair consists of two bow-shaped tubes connected by three crossways tubes and a stretching seat. The product was so designed that the whole thing could be taken apart without any tools and also be packed totally flat. It was also one of the first chairs that could be disassembled, making it easy to be taken anywhere and even be mailed through post.
The Bachelor chair and its accompanying foot stool have been re-launched by Montana in six colours in acrylic and in linen canvas. The colours include northern white, graphic coast, arctic blue, wild rose, mango and black coal, and nature – a light linen canvas. The chair is also available with an option of cushions for added comfort.
The tables are being launched in three types of veneer for indoor use – white oak, burned oak and black oak – and two solid laminates for outdoor use: snow and anthracite.
The Bachelor chair is priced at £300 ($456) while the foot stool retails for £218 ($332). Cushion for Bachelor Linen/Leather retails from £62/£101 ($94/$154) while the Bachelor table is available at £306 ($467).
