Developed by Leeds City Council (LCC) as part of a joint GBP33 million ($49.9 million approx) council-led project, Morley Leisure Centre will replace an old center closed in July 2008.

The new center is designed to include a range of state-of-the-art facilities including the city’s largest Bodyline gym. This will be the largest council-operated gym in the city. The center will also include a 25m swimming pool, a 10m learner pool and two sports halls including a four-court hall and a six-court hall. Both sports halls are suitable for a range of sporting and recreational activities including badminton, 5-a-side football or children’s parties. The sports halls will feature dedicated changing rooms and lockers located nearby.

Other amenities housed in the center are a multi-activity hall, a dance studio and a café, which have been developed by contractor Interserve. Interserve is also developing another facility at Armley for LCC.
