Work will be carried out in two phases. Phase I will lead to creation of about 7000 individual seats including 3000 in the north end zone and 4000 in the south end. There will also be construction of 27 corporate suites during the same phase. All the new sections will sport enclosed concourses, along with their individual concession facilities and restrooms.

The project will also involve substitution of the existing Maxtron with a 60 feet wide digital LED screen and scoreboard in the facility’s northeast part. A digital LED scoreboard measuring 55 feet in width will be attached to the west grandstand of the stadium. Further, LED ribbons will be mounted at field level on the east stands and along the west grandstand.

The project’s second phase will include installation of another level of temporary bleachers. These bleachers will raise the capacity of the stadium to about 55,000 for the Grey Cup.

The project will be financed through $6.2 million from the provincial government. The rest of the project costs will be funded by the Saskatchewan Roughriders club’s capital account. Construction is slated to commence by 2013 and be completed by 2016.
