‘PyroLac Pr0’ is a Class 0 fire retardant system formulated specifically for use on new interior wood. It is ideal for wood panelling and can also be used on interior doors, staircases and most other areas. The system was tested in March 2006 by Warrington Fire Research and has been certified to meet BS 476 Part 6 Flame Propagation Class 0, upgrading and maintaining, and BS 476 Part 7 Class 1 Surface Spread of Flame.
In addition to its certified fire retardant properties, PyroLac Pr0 also offers a super-smooth finish, with no orange-peel effect, and is easily applied through professional spray application.
The system comprises three products; a waterborne basecoat, waterborne intumescent flame retardant clear lacquer and a solventborne acid catalysed two-pack clear flame resistant lacquer.
Mike Willis of Becker Acroma developed PyroLac Pr0. He says, “Increasing fire protection legislation is one of the most important issues for the building industry and PyroLac Pr0 has been developed to assist in meeting these regulations while not compromising on quality of finish.”
“In developing this product we have listened to the needs and wants of our customers and have formulated a superb product which they are delighted with,” continues Mike. “With offering a Class 0 finish, combined with such a smooth finish, we expect this product to generate incredible interest.”
