The newly renovated facility features new furniture, an entertainment center in the Teen Room section, new carpeting, book shelves, and decorative pieces. Electrical installations have also been modified to make the room a safer place.

Volunteer coordinator Michael Ahakuelo, who managed the renovation project with the help of maintenance supervisor Rex Kobayashi, said that the renovation efforts had been fruitful thanks to community support. Hawaii Hotel Association Foundation has also offered support for the project.

The family room, which is open from 9am to 9am every day, is meant for immediate family members of seriously ill children. They can take rest and relax in the room by being away from the clinical setting.
