The new facility, built in steel, substitutes Mercy’s old building destroyed by a tornado in May 2011. The new property comprises an emergency department. The patient rooms of the hospital incorporate monitoring and communication facilities, as well as private bathrooms. The inpatient wings of the hospital encompass two floors and has the capacity to house over 100 patients. The new hospital has also been equipped with more advanced imaging technology.

The new building is 30% more stronger compared to Mercy’s old structure. Further, the glass installed in the new facility can withstand winds of 200 mph. Among various other features of the property include a cafeteria, gift shop, pharmacy, as well as chapel.
