The new hospital is located at Wolf Lough, off the main A32 Enniskillen to Omagh Road and approximately one mile from Enniskillen town. It spans 65,000 square metre and has four levels, consisting of a ground floor level.
The hospital has three blocks, separated by linear gardens or patios, which allows natural light to enter the inner space and fosters natural ventilation. The garden also provide a constant view of the surroundings. The facility features special separate areas designated for personnel and patients.
The hospital has three operation suites, consisting of one emergency and two elective theatres and a day surgery unit. The new facility has 315 single patient rooms with ensuite facilities. All the rooms offer panoramic views of the of Wolf Lough.
The site has 11 parking garages, which offer space for about 788 passenger vehicles. The other facilities at the new hospital consist of accommodation for staff and crèche.
The facility offers the most modern clinical practices and the latest technologies in patient care. The New South West Acute Hospital will also offer a wide range of specialities, with a focus on maternity and emergency services. It has been constructed by FCC Construcción.
